College Look
Alyssa, my niece, has moved to California to attend The Young Americans College (it's a performance and entertainment school). It's exciting to watch Alyssa on this journey as she sets out to conquer the world.
No doubt, Piper has been taking mental notes along the way. For over a year now, she talks about being a grown up, going to work with me, and being a mommy like me. So her comments about college today shouldn't have surprised me but they did.
I bought some makeup today and received a gift with purchase. The gift was a purple purse. On the way home, I showed it to Piper. She immediately started stuffing her necklaces, corner blanket, and headband in it. She announced "when I grow up and go to college with Alyssa, I am going to bring this purse"!
I don't remember wanting to be a grown up at her age. I think she wants to be a grown up because she thinks she can make the rules then! ha ha
So my sister is very sad as she drives back to Texas, leaving her baby girl in Cali. I don't know how I could leave Piper in another state but plenty of parents find the strength to let their kids grow up. Today, I find my heart pouring out to my sister as she learns to let go a little more. I pray my neice makes good decisions and survives the rigerous schedule of school and rehearsals from 8 am to 10 pm, Monday through Saturday! No time to be lazy at her school.
I am thankful I have Princess Babycakes for another 14 years before I have to leave her at college!
Peace and Bunny Ears,
Aimee
